As a mom, I take any opportunity to make life easier and help my kids sleep soundly. Whether it is a bedtime story, a special song or just a conversation, there is usually some kind of ritual to getting them settled in for the evening. Unfortunately, despite all of our efforts, my daughter often continues to have bad dreams during the night. So I decided to try a new approach—Good Dreams Bed Spray! It involves calming essential oils that can be used safely around sleeping children. Now we spritz it on her pillow before lights out and say goodnight knowing that she’s got extra protection against bad dreams—and maybe even sweet dreams ahead!

It has been a game changer for our entire family’s sleeping situation.

Made with natural ingredients, this spray can create a calming and soothing environment, making it easier for my sweet babies to fall asleep and reduce the chance of having a nightmare. Essential oils such as lavender, chamomile, and cedarwood have been proven to have a relaxing effect on the mind and body. The spray is easy to use, simply spray a few times in the air or on a pillow at bedtime. One of my favorite essential oils is actually this blend from Plant Therapy.

My Daughter’s Journey with Bad Dreams and What It Was Like for Us as Parents

Well, let me tell you, my daughter’s journey with bad dreams was definitely a wild ride. Who knew that a little person could have such vivid and terrifying nightmares? My husband and I were constantly taking turns to her room throughout the night, trying to get our sweet girl to think good thoughts at bedtime. And let’s not forget the sleepless nights we had, constantly worrying about her and hoping she wouldn’t have another bad dream. But hey, at least we got really good at telling bedtime stories and singing lullabies. Silver linings, am I right?

The Power of Essential Oils – What They Are and How they can help kids cope with being afraid of the dark and nightmares

Essential oils are concentrated liquids extracted from plants that have numerous therapeutic properties. These oils are commonly used in aromatherapy and are believed to have various benefits, including promoting relaxation and easing anxiety. For children who are afraid of the dark and experience nightmares, essential oils can be an effective natural remedy. Oils such as lavender, chamomile, and ylang-ylang are known for their calming properties, helping to soothe nerves and promote restful sleep. When diffused or used in a spray form, these oils can create a calming atmosphere and help kids feel more comfortable and secure. Using essential oils is a safe and natural way to help children cope with their fears and improve their quality of sleep. Here are some great kid-friendly options.

Creating Your Own “Good Dreams Bedtime Spray” to help your children cope with nighttime darkness and fear of bad dreams

It is so easy to make, only requires an essential oil of choice water and a spray bottle. I use 8oz amber bottles, fill it to the top with water, and then put about 20 essential oil drops in the bottle. Here is a link to the bottles and some of my favorite essential oils. I went an extra step and used my label maker to apply to the bottle.

Children need a good night’s sleep without fears and worries that come with the darkness and nightmares. That’s where the “Good Dreams Bedtime Spray” comes in! Not only is it super easy to make, but it’s also a fun DIY project to do with your little ones.

All you need is an essential oil of your choice, a spray bottle, and water

I personally recommend using Cedarwood and Lavender oils for those calming and soothing scents. Just mix everything together in the bottle and let your kids spray away before bedtime. Not only will they love the fun of spritzing their beds, but they’ll also drift off to sleep knowing that their dreams will be good ones. Sweet dreams, my little ones!

Tips for Getting the Most Out of Your Good Dreams Bedtime Spray

Work two squirts of spray into every nighttime routine on your child’s bed.  It is the last thing we do before turning out the lights leaving the bedroom. We like to keep the routine each day for consistency. The goal is to keep their eyes closed for the entire time it takes to spray their bed with Good Dreams. And once it’s sprayed, the real challenge begins: no talking allowed. So, grab that bottle of Good Dreams, and get ready for some serious sleep success.

Our family can attest to the positive impact this product has made on our nightly routine. Since we began using the bed spray, Ames has experienced fewer nightmares and seems to be sleeping more peacefully overall. The simple act of spraying her bed before saying goodnight has become a soothing ritual that helps her feel more relaxed and protected. We highly recommend it to anyone looking to improve their quality of sleep.
